Originally launched last year, the burger became an unexpected sensation, selling over 700,000 units in just 11 days before being pulled from the menu due to limited supply. The chain confirmed on Wednesday that customer requests for its return prompted the decision to relaunch the product.
“The Squid Alive Burger features a squid patty topped with whole fried squid tentacles,” said Lotte GRS in a statement. “A recent survey revealed that nearly 90% of respondents expressed willingness to purchase the burger again, which led to its reintroduction.”
Building on the previous success, Lotteria has re-released the burger in two flavours: Spicy and Black Pepper.
The chain is banking on nostalgia and bold flavours to appeal to adventurous eaters and fast-food fans across the country.
